The Perth Hills Wine Region is gradually becoming
known as an alternative destination to sample fine wines only half
an hour from the city, and the beautiful Bickley/Carmel Valleys,
behind Kalamunda, have a cluster of boutique wineries which are
well worth a visit.

COSHAM WINES Cosham Wines is a small, family-owned, and operated vineyard situated in Carmel, in South West Australia. The Vineyard is located at the southern end of the Bickley Valley. Vines grown in gravely loam, with some clay, but overall in a well drained soil. There are plentiful chilling days in winter and a good ripening period in summer. Cosham vines are pruned and trained by hand and managed without insecticide and synthetic pesticides. All our wines are made from grapes hand – picked from our vineyard. The wines are carefully aged in our underground cellars prior to release. |
Our sparkling wine is bottle fermented and made by the traditional method. Cosham produces a chardonnay, a dry red pinot noir, shiraz and cabernet merlot. Cellar door hours are 11.00am to 5pm weekends and public holidays.

255 Walnut Road Hainault Vineyard is a family owned and operated boutique vineyard that nestles in a jarrah forest high in the Perth Hills region of Western Australia. The 5 ha vineyard was planted in 1978 and is the highest vineyard in the state. Michael and Lyn Sykes purchased the vineyard in March 2002. Their objective is to produce premium quality varietal wines with minimal synthetic inputs. Wine styles include Method Champenoise, dry whites, sweet whites, reds and fortifieds. |

Our boutique vineyard is planted on a gentle slope characterised by six large poplars flanking Piesse Brook. Established in 1984 the vineyard is planted with chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon varieties. Our methode champenoise was one of the first in the region and has won a number of awards. PIESSE BROOK WINES Di Bray & Ray Boyanich Tel: (08) 9293 3309 or 9293 3449 Piesse Brook Vineyard, at 226 Aldersyde Road, Bickley was the first vineyard and winery established in the Perth Hills in 1974. It is run by Di Bray with her daughter Larissa and brother Ray Boyanich and his wife Lee. The property has been in the family since 1947 operating as an orchard until gradually replanted with vines, the latest being Mouvuedre in 2008. Wines are estate made and come from vines 20 years or older on the property and include Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Merlot, Malbec & Chardonnay as well as dome blends and a rose. We have 5 acres situated next to State Forest on our eastern boundary. Our western outlook takes in the vineyard and valley views neighbouring orchards and distant views of coastal plains to the ocean. Customers can take in these views walking from the carpark to the cellar doors passing pioneering equipment used by Wellsinkers Blacksmiths & Farmers. The cellar doors has a high ceiling with gang nailed roof trusses, polished jarrah tongue & groove flooring, exposed brickwork complete with a solid jarrah bar lit by heritage style lights. Sitting on the veranda which surrounds the house you watch honeyeaters, Magpies, Wattlers & other birds going about their business while you sip my latest White or Red wine. With views, forestry, birdlife and a friendly host, definitely a must visit place. |

Fairbrossen Estate Fairbrossen Estate is a family owned and operated tea rooms and vineyard, conveniently located in Carmel, and just 30 minutes from Perth’s CBD. Fairbrossen offers visitors fresh wholesome food served at the refurbished old tractor shed. Enjoy a range of light lunches whilst sitting overlooking the vineyard to the State Forest beyond, or a gourmet vineyard platter with a bottle of wine picnic style on the lawn if preferred.
